The Promise They Made at 19 Came True at 60—Then Ruth Discovered Why Jeffrey Had Walked Away

Jeffrey and Ruth became inseparable friends when they were seventeen. They never called themselves a couple. They dated other people and laughed whenever friends suggested they belonged together.
