Why Do You Keep Getting Pimples on Your Nose? The Real Reason May Surprise You

Acne on the nose is incredibly common, but it’s not always caused by poor hygiene.

The nose is part of the face’s “T-zone,” where oil glands are larger and more active. Extra oil can mix with dead skin cells and bacteria, clogging pores and creating pimples or blackheads.

But here’s something many people get wrong: those tiny gray or yellow dots on your nose may not actually be blackheads. They could be sebaceous filaments—normal structures that help move oil to the skin’s surface.

Touching your nose frequently, adjusting glasses, using harsh cleansers, or constantly scrubbing can also make breakouts worse.

And dermatologists strongly advise against squeezing pimples on the nose. Irritating this area can lead to prolonged redness, scarring, or infection.
