Netflix Horror Movie Has Scene So Disturbing It’s Making People Pass Out

The film is based on a 1992 novel by Stephen King

If you’ve ever sat down to watch a film adaptation of one of Stephen King’s novels, you know they’re not exactly light viewing material.

From classics like “IT” and “Pet Sematary” to “The Boogeyman” and “Children of the Corn,” it’s clear that these films aren’t the best choice for a relaxing evening before sleep.

In recent years, Netflix has gained the rights to remake many of these iconic films based on King’s work, and even to create some original movies.

One such Netflix exclusive is “Gerald’s Game,” which features Carla Gugino and Bruce Greenwood in the lead roles.

It’s directed by Mike Flanagan, a name synonymous with successful horror projects like “The Haunting of Hill House,” “Doctor Sleep,” “The Midnight Club,” and “Midnight Mass.”

Released in 2017, the plot of “Gerald’s Game” goes like this: “A woman accidentally kills her husband during foreplay.”

“They had driven out to a remote area in an attempt to reignite their faltering relationship. Handcuffed to the bed, she soon becomes delirious.”

Though the movie came out a few years ago, it recently became a topic of discussion in the Netflix Bangers Facebook group, where a user asked for opinions on the film.

One member responded, “Good movie, even better book!”

Another said, “Loved it – seen it 3x lol.”

A third comment read, “Can be uncomfortable in certain scenes but worth a watch.”

Yet another chimed in with, “Well it is Stephen King!!!!! It’s good!!!”

Someone else offered a caution, stating, “Be careful. The big climactic scene made me sick to my stomach.”

“I had to take a break before I could come back and finish watching it.”

Another person described the movie simply as ‘terrifying.’

Back when “Gerald’s Game” was released in 2017, another viewer mentioned they nearly passed out while watching it.

The X user shared, “Okay, I genuinely nearly just passed out. #GeraldsGame has been on pause for ten minutes. A film has NEVER affected me like that before.”

They continued in a follow-up tweet, “Can’t believe it affected me like it did. I swear I’ve seen worse. But I genuinely felt faint. Had to run to the loo and everything.”

Despite the film’s graphic nature, “Gerald’s Game” has earned an impressive 91 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

One critic was so impressed they argued that the film surpasses the book.

They wrote on the review site, “There are few movies that manage to outdo their source material.”

“There are even fewer movies that are based on a Stephen King book and still manage to outdo the source material. Netflix original film Gerald’s Game is one such movie.”

Good luck to anyone who’s gearing up to watch it…
