The former adult star broke her back at TwitchCon in 2022, but she clearly has not lost her sense of humor.
Adriana Chechik had viewers laughing after she acted out the part of someone who hated being an adult star, even though people familiar with her know that was not how she has described her own experience.
The 34-year-old became one of the best-known performers in the adult industry during a career that lasted from 2013 to 2022. Over those years, she built a major name for herself and won a number of awards.
When she stepped away from porn, she said part of the reason was wanting people to see more of who she was beyond that work. Moving into streaming gave her a fresh start and opened a very different chapter in her public life.
During one livestream, Chechik leaned into a dramatic fake-crying bit as she joked about trying to get away from the industry. Then she turned the moment around by making it clear, with a grin, that she had actually loved the job.
“I tried. I tried so hard. I tried so hard to get out,” she wailed.
Chechik then landed the punchline with a smirk:Ā “And my pimp, he just like… You know, I love my job.”
She noticed the tone of the joke right away and added: “Was that too morbid of a joke? Was that a little too morbid for you guys?”
The reason the joke works is tied to Chechik herself. She has long been open about the fact that she genuinely enjoyed her time in adult entertainment, rather than trying to rewrite that part of her life as something she hated.
That honesty is also why some viewers read the moment as classic Chechik. She used a dark setup, pushed it into uncomfortable territory, and then undercut it with the kind of blunt humor her audience expects from her.

Since retiring from adult entertainment, Chechik has turned streaming into a major second career. She now works as a Twitch streamer and content creator, with more than 860,000 followers on Twitch and 4.2 million followers on Instagram.
That move helped her reach a new audience, including people who know her more for gaming, live chats, and online personality content than for her past work in porn.
For Chechik, the shift also gave her a chance to shape her image in a different way. Rather than only being seen through one part of her career, she could show more of her humor, interests, and day-to-day life.

Speaking on theĀ Holly Randall Unfiltered podcastĀ in November 2023, she explained how much the platform had changed things for her.
“Twitch has been the best blessing for me,” she said. “I wasn’t even making money from it at first, but I was just somewhere where people were valuing me for me.”

Chechik also spoke about how cut off she felt from the wider world while she was working in porn. Even though she enjoyed the job, she said that life could become isolating in its own way.
“I was craving intellectuality and learning, and I just wasn’t getting it. I was so enwrapped in porn that I didn’t have any notion of the outside world,” she admitted.
Her life after porn has still come with serious challenges. While streaming gave her a new path, one moment at a major event left her facing a painful and frightening recovery.
In October 2022, Chechik broke her back in two places after jumping into a shallow foam pit at TwitchCon. The injury was severe enough that she needed major surgery and a long rehab process afterward.
In an update shared last year, she said she had survived the back injury and that it was fully healed.
The recovery became another part of her story as a creator. Even after such a serious setback, she has continued to stay visible online and keep the same sharp humor that made the livestream joke land with her audience.
